it’s done. for now.
updated wordpress, preparing to make a theme change and added gallery integration. not bad for birthday work. it’s easy to remember to update the backend if it’s on my birthday anyway.
so i get this book today from an old photographer friend of mine who’s in Venezuela. as it turns out, i’m in it. not once, but twice…and there’s a photocopy of a Venezuelan magazine page in it with this one picture that’s in the book:
as i looked through the book (exclusively art nudes) it occurred to me that i was finally done. when i got into modeling i had no idea what my ambitions were, all the way up to today. today i feel like it’s done; i’m not driven to do more, this was all i wanted. this side of me, which has been wounded and sick for a while, can finally die. it seems it wasn’t enough to web-publish, or to do nudes that sit in a portfolio for who-knows-how-long. just once, to be in an art book, a fine one, along with so many other images representing someone’s work…to be one woman of many, but to know one in there was me. it’s kindof a contribution back, when i was little and looking through art and photography books and wondering who those women were and where they were now, how they lived, now i’m one of them and maybe (if i’m lucky) one day a young (south american) girl will wonder the same about me while flipping through an old book.
